Creative work is often intensely personal and vulnerable to share. Feedback on this work can be challenging to both give and receive, especially when there is a necessity of grades or other formal assessment measure.
This course will guide you through:
How to facilitate feedback in a live setting
Exploring how to create effective rubrics and their connection to growth
Discovering ways to engage with authentic assessment - even if you need to provide students with grades.
Digging deep into assessment specific to songwriting.

Discover 'The Welcome', learn how to use the S.H.A.R.E. acronym, and explore ways for both facilitators and peers to engage with feedback in a live setting.
MODULE #2
Rubrics
Rubrics provides opportunities for holistic assessment when it comes to creative work. Explore the pros and cons of rubrics when it comes to creative work and learn how to assess your current rubrics and improve them to assess creative work.
MODULE #3
Authentic Assessment
Explore ways to engage with authentic assessment strategies. Tease out how to separate assessment and feedback from grades while still motivating students.
MODULE #4
Song Doctor
Once you’ve worked through the first three modules, it can be really fun to apply that work to songwriting.
Explore ways to help students improve their songs and gain valuable insight into their work.
